Nurturing your Pearls
Each South Sea pearl is a live, organic gemstone and is a miracle of nature in its creation. Although strong in composition and are able to be worn every day, this precious bio-crystal deserves to be continuously nurtured in whatever life it takes after harvest.
Some simple advices for ensuring longevity of your pearls are as follows:
- Always apply cosmetics and perfumes to skin before you dress yourself with pearls.
- Avoid wearing pearls during sporting activities.
- After wearing, polish with a chemical and lint-free cloth; either dry or damp.
- Avoid harsh chemicals like alcohol or other cleaning agents.
- Store your pearls flat to avoid kinking and separate to other jewellery. Where possible, keep them in their original case or wrapped in a soft cloth to avoid being scratched.
- Have your pearls re-strung regularly, particularly if you wear them often (perhaps once a year).
